I stand in watch

By Sondra Williams

Reflecting on life's journey, drifting off to sea
Watching the gifts wash upon the shore, hoping just one will be for me
In silence I observe others rejoicing with happiness they do sing
Yet still waiting, with longing eyes wondering what the tide will bring

When the gifts are placed into the sea, they are never randomly tossed
For he knows what is sent out to each of us, and nothing is ever lost

Patiently waiting for my day to come, as I sit intensely focused on the sea
For God has designed each of my gifts, perfectly matched to me.

Profoundly knowing in me, God is in deep exploration
Not giving up my hope in life, I faithfully wait with great expectation

Knowing my gifts will soon come a shore like others, in its time
For he is sending my gifts as he has for others in its prime

Each day still nothing comes, but a heart full of wanting from the sea
Yet faithfully I stand in watch, for in truth he has not forgot me

Praying today will be the day my gifts come rushing a shore
Wanting only what he has uniquely created for me, seeking nothing more.

"We each have our own way of living in the world, together we are like a symphony.
Some are the melody, some are the rhythm, some are the harmony
It all blends together, we are like a symphony, and each part is crucial.
We all contribute to the song of life."
...Sondra Williams

We might not always agree; but TOGETHER we will make a difference.
