AS Manifesto

I am not who you think I am.

I am not who you say I am.

Don't tear me down, please.

This is what God made me.

I'm a grown woman, not a child.

I can be a wife.

I can be a mother.

I can be a friend.

I can love deeply.

I can change.

I can grow.

I am stronger than you think.

I can be a rock of support to lean on, not a clinging vine.

I struggle, but I don't give up changing and growing.

I have difficulties, but I have strength beyond what you think.

I am grateful for help, but also eager to give it with all I have in me.

I am grateful when my needs are met, but also willing and able to meet needs.

My heart knows pain, and wants to heal others' hearts because of it.

I have AS, but I am not defined by AS.

AS means I work harder for what I want, not that I am incapable.

AS means strength and weakness,

Joy and pain,

Insight and confusion,

But human....

Just like you.

"We each have our own way of living in the world, together we are like a symphony.
Some are the melody, some are the rhythm, some are the harmony
It all blends together, we are like a symphony, and each part is crucial.
We all contribute to the song of life."
...Sondra Williams

We might not always agree; but TOGETHER we will make a difference.
