An Aspiring Ditty
By Carol Horner
The author, asked that
the following note be included:
'Here's a little ditty which "some"
members might identify with and hopefully enjoy.
"'To our dear Aspie members, it
should in no way be construed as showing any lack of caring and true
appreciation for you who are helping our non-spectrum members in
their quest for better lives for themselves and their Aspie loved
ones which we hope also for you and your loved ones.'"
There was a nice woman who hadn't a
clue
Who fell into love with an Aspie named Hugh
But she was NT from her hat to her shoe
And threw up her hands, didn't know what to do.
Cause Aspies you know they can't
reciprocate
They woo you OK until you take the bait
They're good with the charm till they get through the gate
And then when you wake up you'll see it's too late.
Pretending forever is too hard to
do
So after the wedding you'll be in a stew
You'll throw up your hands and know not what to do
Try hard to refrain from becoming a shrew
There'll be days when you want to
pull out your hair
And nights when you come close to total despair
You expected marriage to be much more fair
Where could you look, in a book for a repair?
Their crazy behavior just makes you
to mope
And naturally you're at the end of your rope
To learn about AS can bring all some hope
Make sense of the man you love, help you to cope.
So learn about ways to help you
with your plight
Who wants to keep circling and have a fight?
Oh, learning, alone, won't make everything right
But hopefully can make the future more bright.
You'll not want to give up on all
your desires
Do more than just sit and see what transpires
Roll up your sleeves, learn what your marriage requires
We'll help you the best that we can at ASPIRES!
