FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Oregon Health Science University to become one of 5 Autism Medical Treatment Centers in the Nation

March 2004

On June 19th at the Oregon Convention Center, the Northwest Autism Foundation and OHSU will publicly announce that OHSU has agreed to become one of 5 medical treatment centers in the nation that will be established to treat children with Autism following an accepted medical protocol that has been nationally recognized as effective in treating children with Autism that suffer from gastro-intestinal, absorption and other related issues.

The conference will last all day, and is currently slated to begin at 9:00am.  OHSU will be replicating the L.A.D.D.E.R.S. program in Boston, currently being run by one of the worlds leading brain specialists (Dr. Margaret Bowman) and Dr. Timothy Buie, a pediatric gastroenterologist from Harvard Medical who has had huge success in treating children with Autism.

For more information on the L.A.D.D.E.R.S. program that OHSU will emulate, and details regarding results of medical procedures that have been performed in Boston, visit the Northwest Autism Foundation website.
Their Autism Proposal can be read at http://www.autismnwaf.org/harvardproposal.htm

The press will be at this conference, as will representatives from Boston, the Northwest Autism Foundation, etc.  Break-out sessions will also be held in the afternoon session.

After 3 years of painstaking effort, and a tireless dedication to the children and families of persons with Autism by some of the top brain and gastrointestinal experts in the world, a medically recognized, national protocol to treat children with Autism has finally been realized.

"We each have our own way of living in the world, together we are like a symphony.
Some are the melody, some are the rhythm, some are the harmony
It all blends together, we are like a symphony, and each part is crucial.
We all contribute to the song of life."
...Sondra Williams

We might not always agree; but TOGETHER we will make a difference.
