for individuals with developmental disabilities and their
families. The Arc also has a national presence in Washington,
D.C. that offers clear explanations that are easy to direct to
the proper lawmaker, through Action Alerts on their website that
support advocacy for federal issues of interest to people with
disabilities. The Arc has, for more than 50 years, had a strong
presence on Capitol Hill and has lead the charge for major
legislation, such as ADA and IDEA. Through The Arc of Oregon,
people can reach their local Arcs. Their website is:
